EXPERTS' WORK ON THE THEME OF THE AFRICAN YEAR OF NUTRITION: MINISTER PIERRE DIMBA GREETS A WORTHY MODEL OF SOUTH-SOUTH PARTNERSHIP

the theme of the African year of nutrition, on December 8, 2022 in Abidjan, the Minister of Health, Public Hygiene and Universal Health Coverage, Pierre Dimba, cited the work of the experts as a model worthy of south-south partnership.

“In view of this work accomplished, I would like, Ladies and Gentlemen Experts, to congratulate you and convey to you all the pride of Côte d'Ivoire in having hosted this meeting. It is a worthy model of South-South partnership that we must all promote”, declared Minister Pierre Dimba.

The theme for the African Year of Nutrition is: “Building Resilience in Nutrition and Food Security on the Continent”

In their statement, the experts recalled the leadership of President Alassane Ouattara for his advocacy with his peers which enabled the adoption by the African Union of the theme of the year 2022 and for having hosted this high-level meeting organized jointly by Côte d'Ivoire and the African Union.

The preliminary statement read by Dr. Patricia N'Goran, Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, Coordinator of the National Platform for Nutrition, Food and Early Childhood Development includes 17 main recommendations.

As a reminder, the meeting was preceded by a meeting of experts which was held on December 6 and 7, 2022. Experts from 25 Member States of the African Union ended their work with recommendations and a call for stock.
